National Center for Geographic Information and Analysis

The National Center for Geographic Information and Analysis (NCGIA) and the USGS sponsored a workshop on Land Use Modeling at the EROS Data Center in Sioux Falls, South Dakota from June 5^th-6^th, 1997. Topics of discussion included: the current and future state of the art in land use modeling, data needs and issues related to the land use and land cover information needed for calibrating and testing models, applications of land use models, the inclusion of human dimensions and, finally, research needs going forward.
